The official end of summer

Today was the last Farmer’s Market of the year. Bella, Clare and I braved the 37 degree morning and headed out to fill up on fresh local produce. Carter doesn’t like to come very much anymore. He usually rolls back over in the morning and goes right back to sleep. While I miss him coming, it is a good bonding time with Miss Bella. Clare can now wear Lydia’s snowsuit and so was bundled in said snowsuit, pink bunny hat and tucked snuggly in her moby wrap. My favorite produce stand didn’t have much left but we were still able to get some potatoes, green peppers (organically grown for only 50 cents each!) and a lovely butternut squash (that I will have to cook at my mom’s house because I still haven’t gotten a new oven). We splurged and purchased egg rolls (yummy) and some whole wheat raspberry cinnamon rolls too. The free craft was “decorate your own mini pumpkin” which was fun for Bella. She named her pumpkin Elizabeth. Unlike summer and spring time this market wasn’t very crowded- surely because of the freezing cold temps. By the time we left our feet and hands were about frozen off but it was well worth it.
